The Mundt Foundation (TMF) achieves its mission by providing charitable grant awards (Grant Awards) and discretionary assistance awards (Assistance Awards) to tax-exempt organizations, the purposes and activities of which TMF finds to be consistent with its Mission Statement, and worthy of support.

Grant Award

Intended to support a "project," which can be a mission or ministry, construction or other undertaking.

Assistance Award

Intended to provide timely resources to address pressing needs in a responsive and efficient manner.

Grant Awards require a full application to and approval of the Board of Directors. TMF prefers to extend Grant Awards on a "matching funds" basis. TMF, however, will consider a Grant Award application involving special need where matching funds are not available, if the reason therefor is satisfactorily explained.

Organizations applying for a Grant Award (Applicants) are encouraged to develop other and additional sources for funds to support a particular project prior to submitting an application to TMF for a Grant Award.

TMF gives preference to Applicants seeking Grant Awards for unique projects, or for the non-recurring needs of missions or ministries. Nevertheless, TMF will consider making a Grant Award which is to be used as operating funds by the recipient under appropriate circumstances.

TMF attempts to support a variety of missions and/or ministries on the basis of the need therefor, and the availability of funds.

Potential Applicants can begin the process by visiting How to Apply and downloading our application packet, including the application, Mission Statement and General Policy Statement.

Assistance Awards bypass the usual application process, and should be taken directly to TMF via personal contact, teleconference, email, regular mail or any other form of contact.

The subject matter of an Assistance Award shall relate to an issue that is:

  • pressing in terms of need and/or time-sensitivity;
  • susceptible to an immediate (or very near-term), favorable outcome as a result of funding, and preferably a favorable outcome that — due to circumstances and time-sensitivity — significantly outweighs the size of the award;
  • not susceptible to misuse; and
  • consistent with the Mission Statement and General Policy Statement of TMF.
